Former Thai Prime Minister Backs Plan to Establish Regional Cryptocurrency Hub

Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, has expressed his support for initiatives aimed at transforming Thailand into a regional hub for cryptocurrencies. Shinawatra, who recently returned to Thailand after years in exile, emphasized the substantial potential of blockchain technology and digital assets for the Thai economy. In remarks made during a meeting with industry leaders and entrepreneurs, he highlighted the importance of establishing a clear and supportive regulatory framework to foster innovation and attract foreign investment in this sector. He added that the government should play an active role in providing the necessary training and education to empower young Thais to capitalize on the opportunities available in the growing cryptocurrency market.
