New Street Fighter Movie Kicks Its Way Into Theaters in October 2026

Legendary Entertainment and Talking Pictures have announced a new film based on the popular Street Fighter video game franchise. The film, currently untitled, is slated for release in theaters in October of 2026. Danny and Michael Philippou are set to direct the film, with a script written by Ashley Miller and Andrew Lang. This film represents the latest attempt to revitalize the beloved video game series for the big screen. Hollywood previously produced a Street Fighter film in 1994, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile and Raul Julia as M. Bison. While financially successful, that film was not a critical hit. In 2009, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was released, but it failed to resonate with audiences. Legendary Entertainment and Talking Pictures hope their new film will restore the Street Fighter series to its former glory. The film is expected to feature a wide range of iconic characters from the video game series, including Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun-Li, and M. Bison. Plot details have not yet been revealed, but the film is anticipated to follow the World Warrior Tournament where fighters from around the globe compete.
