Ripple CTO: Ripple Cannot Control the XRP Ledger
Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has firmly stated that Ripple does not have the ability to control the XRP Ledger. He emphasized the decentralized nature of the XRP Ledger, pointing out that a diverse group of independent validators around the world work to maintain the integrity of the network. Schwartz noted that any attempts by Ripple to influence the ledger would require collaboration from a majority of the validators, an unlikely scenario given their varied interests. This assertion aims to address ongoing concerns about the centralization of XRP, an issue that has been raised in the past by individuals and groups within the cryptocurrency community. Schwartz clarified that the XRP Ledger is designed to be censorship-resistant and that any attempt to control it by a single entity would be extremely difficult. He added that widespread participation ensures that proposed changes require broad support from the entire community, preventing any unilateral actions.
